Wimax: The Wireless Broadband

Wireless networking is the future and the future has arrived in India. No i'm not talking about airtel launching their 3G network,I'm talking about Wimax. Wimax is wireless network that keeps u connected wherever you go and what ever you do. All you need to do is buy a Wimax card that goes into the PCMCI slot of your laptop, configure your network and bingo you are connected at 70Mbps. Yes 70 Mbps; I didnot get my mathematics wrong. Wimax in theory can provide this speed and we can definitely expect atleast 15 to 20 Mbps.

The trick is pretty simple. We'll have wimax towers set up across our country and as long as you are within the range of any of these towers, just like a 3G network except for the fact that it is much much faster and a lot cheaper. For the time being only Delhi has this feature.Hope it will spread to our beautiful Cochin in a few years.

Keep Connected
John.
